More than one troubled teen at FFS struggles with ADHD, a condition characterized by impulsive, reckless choices and an inability to accept consequences for one's actions. For these teens, the controlled environment and structure of a therapeutic boarding school can be highly beneficial, particularly our emphasis on accountability, and on the principles of 12-Step living, which include looking honestly at our actions and making amends to those we have harmed. Slowly but surely, the attitudes and behaviors of these students change and improve as they adjust to the environment and begin engaging with the program.
